
2026 National Chinese Speech Contest (NCSC)
Introduction
The American Academy of International Culture and Education (AAICE) is pleased to announce that registration for the 2026 National Chinese Speech Contest is now open. Final competitions will be held in March, 2025. All grades 3-12, and college-level Chinese language learners in the U. S. and Canada are invited to participate in the contest. Participants need to be enrolled in a Chinese language program in a state-registered accredited school. Prizes will be awarded to both the winners and their teachers.
美国国际文教学会(AAICE)宣布2026年第五届全美中文演讲比赛现在开始接受报名,决赛将于2026年3月举行。AAICE邀请北美3-12年级以及大学水平的中文学习者参加比赛。参赛者需在州注册认证的学校中文语言项目中学习。获胜者及其教师将获得证书及奖品。

Theme
Chinese: A Bridge Across Cultures
Students can further develop their own topics based on this theme. Build your topic around the idea of a “bridge.”What kind of bridge has learning Chinese built for you? What has it connected, and where has it led you? Share your real story.

学生可以根据主题自行命题,拓展演讲内容。请围绕“桥梁”这一主题,讲述你的故事。

Groupings
All participants need to be enrolled in a Chinese language program in a U.S. state-registered accredited school.
Contestants will be grouped by their grade levels.

World Language Learners – learners who are learning Chinese as a foreign language
(中文为外语学习者且非华裔血统者) -
Ethnically Chinese Group – learners who are ethnically Chinese, including adopted children
(华裔组,华裔血统者,包括父母亲任何一方有华裔血统及领养儿) -
Immersion Program Learners – learners who are currently in immersion programs or students who have completed 5 or more years of immersion program in the past,and are not ethnically Chinese
(沉浸式项目学习者,包括曾经在沉浸式项目学习过5年以上,但是现在不在沉浸式项目中的非华裔学生)
The contest will consist of four major groups and 10 subgroups:
1. Grades 3-5 Chinese language learners with the following subgroups

World language learners (中文为外语学习者且非华裔血统者)

Ethnically Chinese learners (华裔血统者)
2. Grades 6-8 Chinese language learners with the following subgroups
-
Immersion program learners (沉浸式项目学习者,包括曾经在沉浸式项目学习过5年以上,但是现在不在沉浸式项目中的非华裔学生)

World language learners (中文为外语学习者且非华裔血统者)
-
Ethnically Chinese learners (华裔血统者)

3. Grades 9-12 Chinese language learners with the following subgroups

AAICE reserves the right to change the groupings if necessary.

Online Registration
Teachers are welcome to recommend their students for the competition. Each teacher can recommend up to a total of ten participants from different sub-groups.
Step 1. Teacher Recommendation

Complete the teacher’s school and personal information. Start recommending students.

A recommendation code for each of the recommended students will be sent out within 48 hours.
Step 2. Student Application and Submission of Required Materials
-
Students must use the recommendation code they receive to complete the online application form.
-
Submit the following documents along with the application form:
-
A video with a self-introduction and your speech(2 to 3 minutes for Grades 3 to 12 students and 3 to 4 minutes for college students.)

A parent/guardian consent form for media use (college-level applicants will submit their own consent form)

The script of your speech in a PDF document

Judging Criteria

Awards

All contestants will receive a participation certificate.

Non-monetary prizes will be awarded to winners in each of the 10 sub-categories:

First place – (1 in each sub-category)

Second place – (2 in each sub-category)
-
Third place – (3 in each sub-category)
-
Honorable mention – (4-6 in each sub-category)

Teachers whose students win the first, second, and third places will receive a $50 gift certificate for educational supplies.
